An evaluation of the Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) was conducted to assess the outcomes of the program and how it has impacted on the retention of medical workforce in remote communities including successful program elements and capacity for development and expansion.
The evaluation used a mixed method approach including, environmental scan of relevant literature and current policy; consultations with key stakeholders; surveys of current and past program participants and supervisors; and in-depth interviews with a selection of participants and supervisors.
