Brief description:

The Australian Government, Department of Health and Ageing, through the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) commissioned Kristine Battye Consulting to undertake a regional health planning study for the Darwin Urban and Darwin Rural Health Service Delivery Areas (HSDAs),  including mapping and identifying existing primary and community health services

Outcome:

  • Profiles of the HSDAs developed         

  • Regional needs assessment undertaken, identifying issues impacting on access to primary health care (PHC) services by Indigenous people in the HSDAs

  • Priorities for action and future investment identified

  • Potential service delivery models to improve access identified
